Dental veneers are an answer to unsightly, discolored, or misshapen and misaligned teeth. While veneers can be made of porcelain or resin composite material, Dr. Rotroff chooses to use porcelain material to cover imperfections in your teeth.
At your first visit, Dr. Rotroff consults with you to determine what changes you would like to see in your smile. She takes X-rays, examines your teeth, and may take impressions to determine if there is enough of the original teeth left for veneers to be a good answer for you.
At the second visit, Dr. Rotroff numbs your mouth so that the procedure is pain-free. She takes a thin layer of enamel from the teeth you want to improve. She makes a model of the teeth and sends it to a lab which manufactures the veneers. She provides a temporary veneer until the next visit.
At the last visit, after ensuring the color match and fit are correct. Dr. Rotroff cements the veneers into place on top of the affected teeth. She trims the veneer and uses a special light on the veneer which sets the adhesive very quickly.
After she removes any excess adhesive, you’re able to look in the mirror and see the transformation. Your teeth will have changed from dull and dingy to bright and sparkling, and you’ll walk out of the office with a brand new smile.
